Vice President of Flight Operations, UPS Airlines
A native of Indianapolis, Houston received a bachelor’s degree in English literature from Wabash College and an MBA from Webster University. A veteran of the US Marine Corps, Houston served in operations Desert Shield and Desert Storm and flew in operations Restore Hope and Southern Watch. He has more than 100 aircraft carrier landings to his credit.
Houston joined UPS in 1994 as a DC-8 flight engineer. He was promoted into management six years later and has held positions of increasing responsibility in Human Resources, Flight Training, Flight Standards and Flight Operations.
As a flight-qualified management captain, Houston’s notable roles have included Flight Training division manager, International Chief Pilot, and director of Airline Safety. Most recently, Houston has been on assignment to Public Affairs as the Global Aviation Strategy and Public Policy Director.
In 2019 he was promoted to vice president of Flight Operations and will oversee the flight-and safety-related operations of UPS Airlines.
