I’m thrilled about getting involved with this Summit. I remember when Tawana Bain (Chair of the Summit) planted the seed three years ago about this concept. To see it morph has been exciting. As a diverse supplier we have to stay on top of where the market is headed and how our clients are managing the ever changing practices on leveraging their Diverse suppliers within the supply chain. Not to mention,  the Summit is taking place during one of the most televised sporting events in the world! I am excited to help where I can.

About helping people, he says, “It’s not just good for me, it’s good for the community. Not only that, it’s also a sound business strategy.” That sound business strategy will see the top CEO launch a spin-off payroll solutions company in 2018. Alpha Business Solutions already has a proven track record as a Diversant subsidiary, and the MBE-certified firm will hit the ground running with a dedicated network and an altruistic, visionary leader at the helm.

For the last 12 years, Gene Waddy has been CEO of Diversant, an IT staffing and business solutions powerhouse that partners with Fortune 500 Companies and links the best candidates with tech jobs nationwide. Under his leadership, the company has grown to attain the rank of 21st on 2017’s BE 100, Black Enterprise Magazine’s list of the nation's largest Black businesses.

Once quite shy, the business leader says learning to be an extrovert took practice, but now motivating others keeps him going. Diversant’s Unity Program backs minority-owned businesses, and knits them into a network that is the fiber of American commerce. To connect these small firms with Diversant’s client base, which includes Merck, Verizon, Bank of America, Comcast, GlaxoSmithKline, Goldman Sachs, Met Life, and many others, gives them a clear path to success.

Waddy also has a passion for mentorship. The CEO takes time to coach motivated people, including veterans and minority youth, and has developed mentorship programs for several university business programs, including Rutgers and Columbia University.

Join Waddy and other diverse businesses of scale as we explore the "Next and Best Practices" of true Supplier Diversity and Inclusion.
